Hey all -

I have fitted my 6.5s to the Tcase, and it is going to be mounted in a mighty kong cradle.

Is it better to have solid transfer mounts and beef up the chassis pick up points, or use regular flexi mounts and replace them when they break? I kinda like having a weak link somewhere inexpensive, what do you all reckon?

Was looking at the solid mounts on here, but I don't want to raise the case at all.

Get a kit from Just_Cruizin. He has them in standard height as well as raised

I havent broken a mount yet. Roctoy welded to reinforced mounts. Stock rubber mounts. Stock chassis mounts.

i am going to say go buy some new factory rubber mounts. its good to have a cheap and easy fix as a weak link. with my 6.5 i havent broken yet and ive got a roctoy

I broke all mine last week after fitting new rockhoppers. They were factory but they were 16years old. I should have replaced them when I had it out.
I am going back with factory ones. They are fairly strong when they are new.

Has anyone braced the short tab on the drivers side at all? It looks to be the most vulnerable point to me...

everyone I know that runs or has run standard mounts has broken one at one time or another.
I run a solid one on the drivers side and modifiyed poly sunspension bushes on the other all with a grade 8 bolt all the way though.Im going all poly shortly.
it just plain sucks when some cheap bastard wreaks your day out because his transfer is trying to do loops under his car and you have to spend your wheeling time trying to patch up his shit.
I keep the olds one in my tool bag and ive handed out 2 in the last 6 months to people who cant keep their shit going and on the track

Never trashed a transfer mount, standard should work fine new.

I used industrial mounts that are designed to stretch a whole heap more and never had a drama with them

whats the story with that first pick joe, is that a 4speed vit auto/transfer going into a sierra transfer?

No Cause i just walked to the section of warehouse that had them and pulled them off the shelf

if you look in the book it list teh dia, height and duro of them, they were 40mm OD, 50mm longer than the stock ones and the middle Duro, whatever that works out to be

yep....first 2 pics are from dual cases.

and this is the new style which is only in one vehicle at the moment for testing but is proving very good.

i run stock mounts with a roctoy ring.I have made the roctoy ring attatch to my stock arms with a few bits of flat bar.My stock arms then have flat bar welded in them to strengthen them up and stop them twisting out of shape.My rubber mounts are still my first set and are probably 20 year old ones.

All has been like this for nearly a year and a half,arms arent twisted,havent torn a mount yet.Have only done around 4000 kms but have done alot of 4x4 in that time
