I had stock gears before, but had 5.12 diffs, with 31s.
Now I have 3.9 diffs, with the 31s still, and the 6,5s, it's pretty good!

I know the gears have a whine to them, but mine sound like something out of The Jetsons - Is it normal for them to be quite noticeable?

Given the rate of the aussie dollar at the moment I'd be getting mine from lowrangeoffroad.com. It's about $200 au at the moment for the mighty kong transfer bucket + postage, or loctup4x4.com.au have the mighty kong for $429 and that includes shipping. Personally I'd go lowrange.com. I know it'll be a big package but I can't see it being another $200 + in postage

That's where ive been pricing some things.. Ive just not committed to it yet.. :S
So I take it the mighty kong is probably the best one to get out of the lot? They say its the most popular.. Id say that's a good thing.. :)

I have 235's with I assume standard gearing. Should I get 6.5:1? I will be going a size up in tyres when these ones are warn out and I don't wanna change gears twice..

Is it advisable to get the new output shaft to at the same time to? Or will the original do for a while? with or without bearing.

Whats everyone else done with the output shaft?

hmmmmmmm...

I've got 6.5's with 31" tyres and the gearing is about right. Can't advise you on the output shaft. I just replaced all the bearings and the gears in my transfer case and I hav'nt run into any problems yet. Having said that, my sierra had about 140k on the clock from new, had only been offroad after I bought it from the 2nd owner, and had been serviced at suzuki it's whole life before I got it too, so everything was in pretty good nick when I stripped it down

apparently the output shaft is ok if it is after 94. i found a 95 trans box and have had no problems with the box or gears at all.

mines a 91 and i know its been used offroad abit already and probably not looked after as well as i do for it.. I wonder if I should try with the normal one then buy the update when / if it needs it? Considering ive only got smallish tyres I think it will be ok for a while?

I just really wanna get some crawling gears back as it sucks not attempting things that are steep / slow sections because I know my gearing will let me down :(

That and I might get a lockright locker for the rear for it..?

Whats the limit for importing before tax? Is it still $1,500AU or is it something else?

Maybe I should make a list and get my self a big expensive xmas present for my suzi lol
