hey guys i was told to put a fuel injected vitara starter motor in my sierra with a 1.6l conversion just wondering what year starter i need or any info as i brought one today and the holes to bolt in are to spread out and the conversion kit plate for the 1.6 conversion the plate dosnt even fit so any help would be great ill be ringing a few places tomorow as well thanks guys

??? y do you need a new starter??? you can use the old one off the 1.3L you just have to grind it down to make it fit flush with the new plate.

ill get the part number this arvo as im about to leave for my court hearing so wish me well or i may not be out wheeling for a while  . and i did grind my block down but i wanna get the 1.6 as they are a better starter motor as they have more power and will last longer i did grind my block down but not far enough so it turned it over and would make the smallest grinding noise

well i am jealous lol both of mine have had to be grinded went alright in court have 4 weeks till i get my notice from deparment of transport asking if i want good behaviour or loss of licence for so long im hoping any way thats what they offer

Ihave a ground down 1.3 starter in mine but I have a small body Vitara starer ready to go in whenever I get a chance.
It is part number.... 31100-60A2

Someone on ebay has new 1600 reduction starters for sale at the moment. They're about $220. Ordered one the other day so I'll let you know how it fits when i get it.
