queensland seems to be a bit cheaper with zook prices.

i have seen stock running 1.3s go from anywhere between $50 and $200... never more than that though.

Until you actually try to find one for that price.....

If anyone has good 1300 engines for $50 I will take 10 of them please, and can I come over this weekend to get them ??

These prices are not made up.

I have a complete bottom end you can have for free, im not home on the weekend though.

Another mate has three sitting in his shed. He payed nothing / $100 and $150 for one with a completely rebuilt head.

Another friend sold his for $150 when he did a 1.6 conversion.

I sold my 1.3 rebuilt head for $150

You must just be trading with the wrong people ;)

Old threads but good indicator of asking prices. They may have sold for less or not at all.

Two for free

$100 missing parts

$200 missing intake

$350 for two

If i was selling a complete running 1.3 i would ask $150 and hope to get it. That is all they are worth unless you are desperate in which case you might pay anything. Something is only worth what someone will pay for it.

Yeah Taff I see what you mean they do come up and in fact there are a couple of cheapies on the forum at the moment.

Of the ones you just posted up the first two are incomplete suitable for parts or rebuild unknown condition and the others are in NSW stored out in the weather with grass growing around them. Also if your mate has bought 3 of them for - nothing, $100 and $150 and they are all still sitting in his shed is it because he hasn't found a good one yet at those prices.

Whenever I have been looking for a decent engine for someone I have usually end up paying around $300 for a complete good running engine, sure they come cheaper but you get what you pay for. The distributor, alternator, starter motor and carbie together are worth more tham $150. I wonder what the wreckers are asking at the moment.

I got my current one for free, uses very small amount of oil and blows no smoke. I sold my old one, block and head only, for 150.
I guess for a decent engine I'd pay up to 300.

I reckon $300 give or take a few dollars. If I ever do a transplant on mine, that is what I'd try and get for my 1.3
