You need a WT dash and you'll also need an NT car...........

All mounts, heater etc is same but you will need at least a WT under dash loom or preferably the entire WT loom... The under dash loom plugs into the rest of the wiring behind the glovebox.

Sounds pretty easy, I replaced a 1L dash with a NT. It
took a lil more than NT - WT.

i just did this in my car, the NT loom is nearly the same as the WT but the plugs are different, you can put the NT loom in behind the WT dash but you will need to remove the backing from the speedo cluster and place it on the back of the WT dash (a few little plastic knobs need to be cut off) then all your gauges will work!.

Alternatively if you are doing what i did and swapping an entire engine conversion, wiring & dash over... its a VERY simple job. You will also need the steel bar that sits behind the dash as it has different mounts, steering collumn is the same and should fit, you may need to remove steering wheel and drop the collumn down/out to make the job easier for you.

ABC auto gear currently have a WT soft top with dash & steer bar etc, they quoted me $50 including the wiring.

I can't add any tech to this thread (except that it's not that hard) but why on earth would anyone want to put the WT dash in a NT? The NT dash is miles more attractive (its less bulky and the three centre round vents are awesome for mounting gauges) and practical with the removable radio pod slung under it.

I could imagine wanting to go from WT to NT or from WT to coil, but I wouldn't put a WT dash in anything.

OH KAY THEN...
You never said that before... Steel dash is 1.0 litre and is a whole different story to 1.3 NT or WT.

Steel dash, IE 1.0 litre, is welded in and is a big job to convert to 1.3 dash but not impossible if you have the skills.

Steel Dashes Rock! Armsup

Why would you bother? just throw in a Tacho on the top right hand side and you can mount as many gauges as you want right along the whole face of the rest of the dash all the way to the passenger side if you want?

Does a newer dash make a car new?

Tell her to get a tit job and a facelift. Then she will be newer..

Swapping out the steel dash will be an enormous PITA. The big problem is that everything behind the dash is different because the relationship between the steering column and pedals is different with the steel dash cars because they have unboosted brakes.

Also, the heater box won't swap because the tunnel is a different size.... it just goes on and on.
