just done the baleno engine conversion does anyone know what dipstick to use

Haha. I'm thinking the sump has been modified so would show a different reading using the baleno one.

It only works IF he has one that reads right at the correct level.

IF you want to do it dodgy, fill the thing up and then mark the dipstick as full level, start it so it fills the filter (and therefore takes some out) and mark that as your low level? or just fill it up with one litre less and make that low oil level, then put the other litre in and make that high level?



OR because you've got a modified sump and now no longer know what it should hold, you have to wing the whole shebang!

the sierra dipstick seams to be miles too short tho

if it sits the same height in the block it will be correct as you are using the matching sump to the stick.

put 3.5lt of oil or what ever sierras take and see but it should be right

to use a sierra stick you need to use the sierra tube

what sump and pickup did you use? if the oil pickup it the same height as in a baleno and the sump about the same depth use the baleno one

i have a baleno motor, with a sierra sump, modified to hold the crank angle sensor. i used the baleno dipstick and never had an issue

You can see the Baleno dipstick on the left, just next to the oil pickup tube.
