where is the length difference between the swb and lwb, is it between the front wheels and the tc or the rear wheels and the tc?

Rear wheels and t'fer case. Not sure of the exact measurement though, somewhere around 300mm ish I think.

from memory the swb is 2030 and lwb is 2375 so 345mm

and w/t maruti/lwb is different length to n/t lwb by about 75mm ?

thanks, im extending a swb to a lwb and want to keep it as close to production as possible to make engineering it easier

see if you can get your hands an a LWB driveshaft and then build the whole wheelbase extension off that... makes finding spares easier for tailshafts/uni joints =)

I'd be inclined to base it on a maruti shaft too, as theyre easily obtained new from india rather than 2nd hand.

if the maruti shaft is 75mm longer again then its no good.
i will probs just get mine extended and balanced. i really need a wheelbase of 2375-2400

engineer wont care about 75mm if he's engineering it anyway, and if maruti are still making them at 75mm longer then it wont matter =)

what size tyre are you running though? you want to make sure your rampover and departure angles are still good.

it needs to be 2400mm +- 25mm max cos of the cab i am fitting otherwise yeh it wouldnt b a problem.

I have a 83 LWB bare chassis in Melbourne, free if You come and get it.
I have other LWB bits that could help, for a small fee too.
I have a LWB rear tail shaft from a 1.0L sierra too
