Hey guys
Ive just bought a mk3 gti and want to swap engines with my sierra, but dont know of a good mechanic that can do a good job of it "without" ripping me off
Does any body know of one or can help me in any way ?

do it yourself. most general mechanics wont do that sort of work. Get the engine in a then gat an auto elec to wire it up.

Make sure you have everything to do the job inc angle drive (or way to get around it), a way to connect cooling system to radiator etc etc and maybe put a beer and bbq day on at your joint and see who of the auszookers clan rocks up.
I'm sure if you spent $200 on beer and eye fillets you'd get a few of us guys around to help you put it in
Certainly cheaper than paying someone to do it! by the way I'm not volunteering...just an idea
Pretty tight for time at the moment but maybe could squeeze in some time in June or July...
