i got a bearing kit form the bearing place in kunda park cause they supply or bearings for work and i can pay them off when ever i want at cost.

the seals that come with look exactly the same as the ones in the ebay kit just wondering what the large seal is for does it go in the free wheel hub? i know it doesnt go on the inside where the axle pokes in cause it is way to large. i think it is about 84mm id. any help would be awesome cheers owen

yeah i have already gone through all this just putting it back together today. the inner of the bearings were completely seized on i had the oxy on it and no luck had to cut the hub off lucky i had a spare and i have mixed and matched parts to get a good one aye. just not sure about that one seal (its the big one in the pic).

Image

and in the manual it said to torque to 89-148ft-lbs isnt that a bit crazy for tapered bearings? i normaly do up then back off then do up finger tight then tighten to the nearest spot where the holes line up.

Big seal goes on the outer CV, as crap can get in there and wreck the bearing

torque figure is correct, they have the preload already built into the bearing (the inner races touch) so you are doing it up to clamp them together

They are the inner and outter oils seals .
The shows the inner being installed and you can see the lip where the outter one goes.
