Keeps running for a bit or just keeps running till you stall it?

So it runs as normal even though you have turned the key right off and taken it out? Does it start ok? Does the key feel funny when you turn it?

its running on not still running, hot spots on the head are keeping it alive
check for air leaks in the intake, I assume it also idles pretty high as well

mine did this when the linkages on the carby were shot (weber carby) - caused excess fuel in the carby and made it run on... longest it ever went was about 30 seconds - i just told people i had a turbo timer =) lol

Still busy smoking and drinking, went around blocking off the hoeses one at a time, and a hose that goes to the top of the carby, to this triangular thingy, seems to have stopped the hunting.
go back out soon and change this thing off a spare carby I have here.
bye

taking a picture of the hose that had come off may save another member from having the same issues. Good to see you got it sorted!

I had that happen a few times when i had my old 1L Sierra, i just put my foot over the end of the exhaust outlet, and it stopped... is the engine tuned up ok ?... maybe try switching to 95 Ron, it has a slightly higher ignition temp...

I have the same problem, High idle and when I've run it for a decent trip it will cough and splutter when I turn the key off and eventually shut off.
My know it all brother seems to think its the oil passing the rings and its running off that so the motor is on its way out, but I don't think thats the case.
So if you could put up a photo of the hose that came off it would be a big help.
Tom
