Hi there
I am just wondering what auto I can fit to a 1.3 Sierra?
I was told I could put a vitara auto behind it but I am unsure if there are readily available fitting plates to fit?
What will work?

You could probably use the 1.6 adaptor plate.

i am about to slap a auto into my sierra however i am going to leave it attached to the G16 and
run a jack shaft to a sierra transfer.

you would have to use a 3 speed vit auto if ya stick with a sierra g13 and ya might want to
have a look at a gearing calculator before ya get to carried away.

The only auto that bolts to a G13 is a Jimny auto. In all honesty, you would want to use a G13BB and auto as a matched pair from an early Jimny to do this due to the electronics involved. If you keep the auto cool, this is a good swap into a sierra.

Using a vitara auto would require the use of a G16 to B13 adapter "backwards" which may or may not work. I would swap a G16 at the same time.

Be aware that if you plan to use the trimatic (3 Speed auto) from a vitara you'll need to very carefully consider your gearing spread - it's hard to get small tyres to work on and off road with only three speeds.

i've been wanting to do this for a while now, im to old to
shuffle gears all day in traffic.

if ya keep the vitara transfer then ya need to do something with the rear diff
as the pumpkin will be in the wrong spot.

then ya would need to find some diff gears, 5.12 is vit gearing for stock tyres and hilux are 4.3

Running a vitara transfer would mean, as a minimum, 5.29 gears in hilux axles. Vitara transfers have slip yokes front and rear which require locking out. They are chain drive and under high load I have heard of a couple killing the chain.

Because the rear output is in line with the crank, not dropped like in a sierra, the rear driveshaft yoke is about 180mm higher than in a sierra transfer. That's likely to do terrible things to the rear driveshaft angle.

There's only one aftermarket gear ratio.

Considering how easy it is to blank off the rear of a vitara auto and run a sierra jackshaft I can see no reason to run a vitara transfer

General concensus when I looked into it was the 1.3 doesnt have enough grunt to turn it.

Do as shep is an fit the motor that the auto is bolted too.
