Does anyone know much about the DOMINATOR LSD like quality & reliability or is it better to go for air locker. At present I'm not going anywhere until I work out a diff centre fix Thanks Ian

Not many people opt for an LSD in a zook. If you can afford an Air-Locker then that is your best option.

Explain please. bye LSD is a Limited Slip Differential, all it does it limit the amount of difference in wheel speed between the two wheels. they are good for on-road and if tight enough good for easy off-road work. they do not 'lock' the wheels together so the wheels can rotate at different speeds.

Shandy has kind of got it, but obviously has not owned a good LSD in a light car likea suzuki, yes they are not a locker but a good tight lsd is an awesome compromise. It wont give you 100% lock up but will make a huge difference to the capability of your vehicle. To give you an idea many years ago my brother blew up his LJ a few weeks before heading off on holidays to Faser Island, I lent him my LJ for the holiday it had a new lsd in it. When he came back he said that my LJ went well, I asked him what he thought of my free wheeling hub conversion on the hiway, he hadn't realized that I had free wheeing hubs(LJ's dont have them) and had not engaged them so drove around Fraser for 2 weeks selecting 4x4 but only still being in 2wd.

This is a good explaination I just looked up for you.
The clutch-type LSD is probably the most common version of the limited slip differential
This type of LSD has all of the same components as an open differential, but it adds a spring pack and a set of clutches. Some of these have a cone clutch that is just like the synchronizers in a manual transmission.
The spring pack pushes the side gears against the clutches, which are attached to the cage. Both side gears spin with the cage when both wheels are moving at the same speed, and the clutches aren't really needed -- the only time the clutches step in is when something happens to make one wheel spin faster than the other, as in a turn. The clutches fight this behavior, wanting both wheels to go the same speed. If one wheel wants to spin faster than the other, it must first overpower the clutch. The stiffness of the springs combined with the friction of the clutch determine how much torque it takes to overpower it.
Getting back to the situation in which one drive wheel is sliping or off the ground and the other one has traction: With this limited slip differential, even though the wheel off the ground is not able to transmit much torque to drive, the other wheel will still get the torque it needs to move. The torque supplied to the wheel that is off the ground is equal to the amount of torque it takes to overpower the clutches. The result is that you can move forward, although still not with the full power of your car.

Thanks for the info as I can get new Dominator LSD for third the Price of a Air Locker delivered, and I still have front auto locker it could be a good option to replace rear auto locker (broken a pin or side gear) until back in city. I should note I understand LSD Function just not familiar with this brand ir any other for the Sierra, As I need to complete diff repair in the scrub which is not the ideal location especially Air Locker Locker setup as I'm over 500km from Kalgoorlie.

Got any details on said LJ LSD? I would be guessing one of those elusive Carry LSDs... Cusco was selling these new in 2009(I have a '09 catalogue) but unsure if they still produce them..

Calmini have had 'Unavailable' on their own site for years now. http://www.puresuzuki.com/Limited_Slip.htm
