With your front tailshaft that goes to your transfer case to your front diff.when I took it out does the spline suppose to just come out out the shaft

86 and 90 have the same shaft and unis, it's only the flanges that re different.

you cant un bolt a tailshaft from a 1990 sierra and bolt it into a 1986 sierra

If you want to replace the shaft cauyse you pulled it apart and now dont know what to do
look closely where the 2 bits slide together, any luck youll see apunch mark on both bits, lines these up and slide it together

The spline is real slopping you can wiggles around when you shake the tailshaft
