That's what we saying isn't it that way the winch still spools between drum and mount but in this case is on top and the motor and controls are still accessible
This is basically what I was saying, put the winch on a mounting plate, then flip the whole shebang and find a spot to mount it, fab your mounts so the plate which is the winch mount is actually above the winch. Imagine having a winch installed in a winch bar, then taking the bar off and flipping the whole bar with the winch in it. Yes you have the drain holes and controls issues but none of the spooling issues that are confusing the issue.
Those winches sound fast lads
