what would you all advise as a most bang for your buck set of reduction gears for a 1989 suzuki sierra with 30" tyres that is used as a daily driver and future beginner offroading?

Probably 4.9:1

Depends on how steep your local terrain is though. If it's not super steep you could run 4.1

i run 30's with trail gear 4.9:1 gears, they are great.
i got them from low range off road

on lowrangeoffroad, thats the most expensive ratio, even moreso than the 6.5's. its the set i wanted, but settled for the 4.1's since they were nearly $200 cheaper.

or, it was when i bought the gears.

What about for a jimny that is going to have 3 to 4inch lift
with 30" a/t's?

think the company is called trial jimny.

Trial jimny do the 24% chain swap- low and high both drop 24%

Apio do a replacement planetary that drops low range only.

Combining both is über awesome, but makes your transfer case worth one million dollars.
