As it says, I replaced all 6 uni joints (They were loose and on the verge of breaking) with Toyo ones. It never vibrated beforehand whilst driving but now it starts excessively vibrating like I'm an earthquake on wheels. It starts up around the 70kmh - 80kmh mark.

Is this normal for new uni's to do - as in do they need to be worn in? Or should I be contacting the bloke who fitted them and getting him to do something about it?

No it's not normal. Something has new incorrectly assembled.

If the front and rear uni yokes are not aligned correctly, you will get bad vibration. Were the shaft halves separated at the sliding spline? If so, check they were reassembled with the splines lined up with the reference marks so that the yokes are phased properly (check the service manual for diagrams).

Care to elaborate on the shaft halves at the sliding spline? I'm not that car-savvy, first car and only recently got licensed so this is all new to me! The shaft had been separated into 3 separate pieces from what I saw in the photos, if that helps.

Prob used the uni clips supplied with the new unis they never sit right
I always re use the factory ones if there still in good nick

If the shafts appear to be in phase and they can't find anything wrong with the uni's, check for play in the splined shaft section, I had a front driveshaft with heaps of play in the splined section, I didn't realise we'd left the hubs locked in (it had never been a problem before because we were only wheeling slowly) and when I hit 60-70km/h on the road it felt like the whole truck was going to shake apart.

I turned around, went home, took another car because I was in a hurry, checked it the next morning in the light, saw what was wrong. I'm not saying that's your problem, just stating another option.

I'm in Thornlands, Redland Bay Area. Dropped it into the shop today at 8 and they're going to pull it all apart again and go over it. It was the apprentice who installed it last time. The guy looking after it said that the shaft may need balancing and that's what might be causing it?

I call bullshit, bet the apprentice dropped the internal rollers and stuffed it. They vibrate when there tight as well

Its easy to have a roller fall down etc,
a miss-lodged roller can also fall and then poke up into the grease hole.
I bet the installer fucked it up and are blaming the apprentice or something else that you have to pay for.

Didn't pay for the fix, owner of the garage is a family friend. One of the clips wasn't in properly and was causing it to rattle, got the car back about 4 hours later and it's now gone.

They fail, had one go in about 100 k's replaced it with a second hand factory one at camp and that lasted about 2000k's before I took it out still in good nic and replaced it and the three other Toyo's as another one had failed, the other two weren't in very good condition either. I'm still running the factory ones today even after upgrading to coils.
