its a slightly less finished look, but the thing is you dont have to chop it all off at once. you can do the steel all at once then go out, flex up on things and trim where you see it scrubbing.
you can take your time and get it right rather then just going the whole goat from day dot. the full bigjimny chop fits 31"s after all.

Good point Jeremy.
I'd worry that trying to trim less off may look a little less tidy, as it would be much easier to follow the line where the flat spot joins the curve, rather than trying to cut half of the flat etc.
But I might try this path. After all, you can always take more off, but can't put it back on.

So I got everything ready today, popped the plastic flares off, all ready to go, and then had a thought. I will need to attach some form of flaring in order to cover the tyres completely, as they do protrude a little at this stage. If I do go ahead with the chop, then there will be nowhere elegant to mount a flare such as a Flexy Flare.
So really, just a little lift would probably be the ideal option for me.... Gahhh!

Therefore, the coil spacers will not be a good option without at least correcting caster first?

Hard to tell with the mud but they look like adjustment bushes. You're an architect so you'll have a good eye, if the bolt is noticeably off centre in relation to the outer circumference of the bush then it's been corrected. Offset centre will be opposite when you compare the front bushes to the rear bushes.

So, therefore coils spacers should be ok?
I stumbled accross your tech guide (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11827), this was with 215 75 15's, right?

Yeah should be ok. I had 215s when I did that tech thread but also ran 235s with the same setup. I've always had some degree of spacer. I've never had offset rims though.
