Could anyone shed some of the possible causes for Low Range to be jumping out while wheeling.

Could be anything from worn shims in the transfer to shifter sheet or even bodylift.

Yeah I was leaning towards Shifter Sheet but the issues is in a mate of my son's NT sierra with NO body lift.

if i wasn't a cheap suzuki owner i'd put money on it being the shifter sheet

when i did the gears with my uncle he didn't do up all the 4 bolts on the DS so every time i accelerated it rocked forward and knocked it out of gear. simple but irritating all the same

could be a bent transfer bracket cousing the shifter to tuch tunnel under load seen that before on my mates

do you have a body lift?my old sierra ute did this...cheap fix was to put 2 eye hooks and a rubber strap with 2clips(you get them from bunnings) and you just clip it in to 4wd low...but i would be looking at transfer mounts...i had the same prob on my coily when i did a body lift..ended up changing the shape wth an oxy...have to be very careful though,because they are 2piece with rubber joining the 2 pieces...

Try taking off your 4wd boot off..and see if the lever hits the body...may even be ok with out the extra width of the boot...you can also do some body work...bit dodgy though....

what the hell is the rubber strap and eye bolts , is that a proffessional way of doing it cause you went and purchased parts

Ive just got back from a weekend of wheeling and found this to all day Friday low range was fine then last Saturday i couldn't go over a bump without it dropping back into neutral. i never had this problem before so i don't think its the body lift so my next bet would be shifter sheet? is there any easy way of finding out what the problem is?

I'm having this same problem with my sj70 sierra and someone told me it could even be the shifter bushing?

I remember driving a Baja bug out of the workshop one day pushing the brake pedal with my hand trying to find the key with my other hand when I was tuning the Webers and it jumped into gear and took off.
Dived in through the window in a panic.

Occy strap around the gearstick to stop it popping out of fourth. And to make it pop into second when you rev it in neutral.

Rev, Rev, Clunk. front wheels off the ground. Shiiiit...
