Here's a good one for GV owners. After a recent day trip (http://auszookers.com/index.php?name=Fo ... ic&t=5491I) the lack of decent approach angle became rather evident - a fair bit of paint got exchanged for dirt!

I am trying to chase up a bullbar to cure this issue. But this certainly would not get posted in this thread (big $$$ for a GV bar). So I got to thinking - why not just cut away the plastic bits that aren't needed?

Cost? $0! Gain? At least a handful of degrees approach angle

The Grand Vitara calipers are different?

GV are different rotor offset, I think the 2.0 V6 is too but look on the DBA rotors site to see

OK, so according to the DBA site for rotors:
Older Sierras use a DB 510.
290mm Diameter, 46.5 High, 10 thick, 107mm center hole. 5 stud holes

96 on (coilys) & 1.6 Vitaras use a DB 513
290mm Diameter, 46.5 High, 10 thick, 107mm center hole. 5 stud holes

2.0 Vitara use a DB 518
310mm Diameter, 46 high, 22 thick, 107 center hole. 5 stud holes.

So does this mean the calipers and 290mm rotors for all sierra's can be changed over for the 2.0 Vitara 310mm ones?
Or only the older 290mm setups changed for the newer 290mm setups?

Has anyone successfully installed the 310mm 2.0L Vitara rotors and Vitara calipers on Sierra?

Did everyhting bolt up ok? or were modifications required?

well the funny thing is now i own a 93 lwb and i bought a set from a newer vit ( $20 )
I drove around for weeks going mental with out them



and i added a icebreak holder too

Searched cheap mods as i am thinking of inexpensive stuff for my LWB resurection, posting rather than creating a new thread, perharps these last 5 years will bring fresh ideas.

- Replace sierra wheel nuts with chrome Vitara ones. Other than the added bling i like to think the enclosed heads keep the threads free of muck and the elements.

- small auxilary In line fuel filter running between mechanical fuel pump and carburettor. Collects gunk that has accumilated in line or broken micro-bits of fuel pump.

- Vitara vicious fan for sierras (haven't actually done this keep forgetting to organise the studs!)

- Volt-meter positive battery terminal

Paid $29 for the one in my SWB, they are curently $19.95.
However i am going to be exceptionally stingy and put a ebay $3 mini digital voltmeter ( 3.0-30v) and momintary switch wired to ground in the LWB as i have fresh brass terminals.



Anyone else got stuff to add???
