i helped my brother inlaw put a 2.5l into his 1600 vitara. it was a easy fit considering the inprovment it done to his car. but he a mec and i a auto elec so we had all basis covered.... the ECU wiyh the 2L might be slightly diff perimeters then 2.5L. but i would say if you going to the trouble then go the 2.7L.

well i think from what i remember in my conversation with who ever it was that the 2.5L will run off the 2L ecu and has the same wiring but the 2.7 needed a differnt ecu and wiring loom

ahh ok. seams wierd but i saw the diff between a 2L and a 2.5L intake pleneum and there no wonders the 2.5L hooks. do the conversion. go to a wreakes and compare the 2 dash and engine looms and that will give ya an idea...

H20 & h25 are very similar, "most" of the sensor's are the same, o2's are different, as for pleneum, the intake's are a different size but only the 2.7 has a vacuum operated valve in the intake, hence the need for a different ECU.

H25 should run ok on your ECU but it may need to be tricked into giveing more fuel..

Easy option, buy my car!!!!

ive done 2l to 2.5 and 2.5 to 2.7...
treat the engines as a bare long motor and use all the original equipment , including the manifolds .
