If you're on hard surfaces and the hubs are locked put it in 4x2 and you won't even know it's there, I don't even unlock my hubs unless I'm going more than 20km on road. Only time I don't like it's affect on the steering is if I try to go fast in 4x4, just means I need to put it in H2 then.

i dunno about other people but my locker unlocks when i am on hard surfaces
and i turn the steering wheel, that's why lockers are better then welding or spools.

Looks like im about to find out what locked front and rear feels like. Just ordered CrMo shafts, cv's and lockrite with couplers.
I have lockrite in the rear using the old sidegear method and it seems to work well. Should i bother swapping the sidegear lockrite into the front, and the new coupler lockrite in the rear?

If you are happy with it in the rear I would just leave it and put the new one in the front.

I have noticed my steering gets stiff when rock crawling, with the tyres at 5psi and jammed in a hole and I need to turn, even with power steer. But it usually is just a matter of getting the tyres to roll just enough so that the locker can unlock. Id be stuffed trying to do it with 12.5 inch tyres and no PS.

Need help here guys. I have a Lockrite 1530 with couplers sitting here ready to be fitted to a diff, and crmo 26spline axles/CV's ready to be fitted too.
I cant get a clear answer, will 1530 Lockrite with couplers fit in a 89ish WT 2-pin front diff?
If it doesnt, do i just fit locker to a spare 4pin rear diff and then shove it in the front axle, or do you just swap the 4pin centre and crownwheel over to the 2pin housing?
Also, dammit i cant decide wether to just sell the lockrite and buy a pAyRB airlocker for the rear, then use it in the front with the 26spline crmo axles.

1510 lockright goes into a 2 pin wt front diff. it is an outerlimites internet myth
that they don't fit i know this as i have one in the front of my car which has a
complete SJ70 front diff in it.

X2 to what Shep said about fitting in a 2 Pin front end, as I have a 1510 in the front of my WT, I bought the 26 spline side gears later on when I went cromoly. They are awsome locked front and rear but I cheated and put in PS at the same time.

The 1530 simply replaces the side gears so I dont see it being any different
