shit sorry rest of my message dissappeared... So I am replacing a G13a with a G13BA I have a new fan belt, spark plugs, oil, oil filter, coolant...

I need to get:
-exhaust manifold gasket and the one going to the exhaust pipe,
-seal for the back of the block where it connects to the gearbox (the o shape one)
-timing belt
-need to inspect the clutch (might as well replace it if its old and the engines already out)
-...?

I am also replacing the radiator with a vit one... so need to make up some brackets or something for that...

I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything that could easily be done while the engine is out and that will preserve the life of the replacement one...

That o shaped thing is the rear main seal, you will need coolant, oil & filter.

Buy as much as you can afford. Look at the condition of the heater hoses at the back of the engine. One of mine failed and it ended up costing me heaps of $$'s just for a $10 hose. Blew a head gasket and in turn replaced a whole lot of shit in the process.

Most probably a combination of the 2, you may have to do some modifications to them to get them to fit properly

I used sierra hoses with a vit radiator but I guess vit ones would fit better

do the heater hoses and bypass hoses on the engine while its out, 10mins vs hours that way

if you are doing a cam belt then do the cam and crank seals while you are there

i agree, do as much as you can afford it will give you peice of mind
when you are out in the bush. I would replace the clutch with a heavy duty item while your at it.

VRS basically gives you every gasket you need from the head gasket up. Full set...well, everything. I wouldn't personally buy this one, no offense to them or their product. I just really, really like the 'Monotorque' brand made by ACL. Excellent product. Are you going to bust the head off?? If not just buy the gaskets you need. Garmax international at brendale aren't to bad just for normal inlet/exhaust gaskets etc.

Hoses, suzisport at lawnton, bit dear but he has them. All the gaskets you will want and the thermostat would cost you less than $88 at garmax. They do timing belts also I think
