In the very near future im going to go to 31's (silverstone extremes), so far im looking at ratio options and how to reinforce the transfer case.
Heres what iv'e come up with, i'd like to know what other people have done or if this setup will work.
I plan getting this stuff through LOCKTUP in perth.
Mightykong cradle (not sure if this still uses the stock mounting rubbers and if so is it worth using the bombproof t'case mounts ?)
6.5 's trail creepers (i'm hoping this doesn't lower the high range to much and make it rev to much on highway's)

i think that 6.5s are to low for 31s on the highway.
there is a gear calc in the tech section, there is enough information in there

i have 31 extremes with 6.5s, 3.7 diffs and nt gearbox. 3600rpm at 100kph
which is about standard. i would prefer it to be reving a bit harder.

I hate my reving over 3k, my new truck does 100kph @ 3100rpm, very happy my cam is set for max power around there. Ill never run 6.5 on 31s unless it's a weekend wheeler.

Stop your bitching.
I run 6.5s and use is at a DD with the stockies on. 4100 rpm at 100 km/h. It runs fine (drove to sydney and back like that). Just man up, and put the 6.5s in.
Xfer case mounts
i keep a few spare of the stock mounts etc. They are cheap to replace, and are the design failure mode. Once you change that, something else more expensive will break.

Im also running 6.5's with 31's and they are great on the highway.
Mighty kong is a little extreme too, just run standard mounts, but gusset them. On the long side i welded a length of scrap 20x20 RHS to the bottom, and the other side i just welded a scrap piece of triangle shaped steel on the inside elbow of the mount.
I have never broken a standard rubber mount either.

I run 6.5s on 29s revs 200rpm over stock at 100kph.
Benifits are all offroad. Then again its not a DD as I haven't run a full tank of fuel throught it on the road in 16 months.
I did make my own HD transfer mounts very similar to the mighty kong case. Haven't broken any mounts yet but I drive like "Miss Daisy".

X3 I have mildy bent the long arm but other then that havent had any problems. I now run solid mounts as well without any dramas.

x4 i made twin mounts on the single side mount and i also made a HD transfer case bash plate as well as strengthened the arms
have a look at my build
