hey all,
Ive gotta replace my rear wheel bearing tomorrow at work. im wanting to know wats is the quickest way and easiest way to do it ?

Grinder and chissel. Just don't cut into your axles.

Yeah there is a bearing and a retaining ring. You cut through the retaining ring the best you can then smash it appart with a chissel. Then attack the bearing.
As Rhino said, wear some safety gear.

Yep, that's the best way. The backing plate will prevent most presses being able to remove them. Just be careful not to nick your axles

ok then yeh we did a hilux one yesterday at work. oh and wat bout puting them back on ?

umm we got one of them small work shop press not sure if it would be tall enuf but. and dont have a tube that would go over the axle

When fitting them back on, the bearing will slip all the way to the machined shoulder at the end. Put the axle between two heavy steel plates or a bearing plate and have the end of the axle/ backing plate up in the air. Shift the bearing plates against the sides of the axle so that the bearing is onto of them, and press down on the centre of the axle. Repeat for the retainer.

And your driveshaft bolts, and if your rear calipers are making heaps of noise its probably because the bolts are 3 full turns away from being finger tight
