I have lost fluid in the last few days and after having a look today, noticed it leaking around the bottom of the water pump where it bolts to the block. Does this mean dead pump or just a blown gasket? Easy job or PITA? I have to change an inlet manifold gasket and do my carby gaskets in the near future, so easier to wait and do it all at once? Advice please!

What engine? Leak from pump usually means dead pump. If it's a G series motor then you need to remove timing belt. All the info you need is in the download section.

Motor is a G13. Water looks to be leaking around the bottom of the pump.

99% sure it will be buggered. It's a cheap fix at least

youll probably find its coming from teh drain hole in the pump once you get teh pulley off, meaning the pump is stuffed

I had the same thing last week... A new pump was only $50 (and I didn't really shop around).

The timing belt does need to come off but still its not a massive job...

Yeah The timing belt was easy, I did only about a week ago! If only i'd known! Oh well will just have to keep topping it up til I have my gaskets as I need to do both manifolds (exhaust needs to be changed over as it's cracked) as well as both carby mount gaskets. Some eBay shopping followed by a day under the bonnet. Awesome, it's just started getting really cold down here!
