I'm just about to fork out $450 for a complete steel GV front diff.
Just checking that a '99 GV Steel diff will fit my '97 Vit, Both are 26 spline and I've got the 5.12 R&P ready to go, so I just have to have the 5.12s swapped into the new GV diff ... is that right ???

It was late 98 suzuki changed the pinion mounts
You can fit the later model diffs but ya have to bash the sump in to make room for the pinion mount
Gus can ya post up the link that ya sent me with the pics of belted in sump

I've paid my deposit now so I guess I will see when I pick it up next week (after pay day) , worst case scenario I will knock the sump in a bit, or maybe fit diff drop brackets!

Yes that was a confusing episode, lots of um-ing and ah-ing ad non-replied PM's so i thought bugger it, i'll just keep it (probably won't find another for 250 again so perhaps for the best). it's still out of the car awaiting a tax cheque to install a locker before it goes in armsup .
Back on topic, hope it all works for ya mick

Thanks mate, will let you know how it goes
I take it the pinion mounts can't be changed either ...
Do all the mounting holes etc, still line up with the original ones ?

the mounts on the outside are the same, the pinion mount is different where it bolts to the pinion carrier but where they pinion mount bolts to the crossmember is the same.... grab all of the pinion mount off the GV.

Thanks Atari I will do, I will see what it looks like when I get it. I may even grab another sump and cut n shut the corner off it and get it ready prior to fitting the diff it is looks like it's going to foul.

My Gv is a 99 and has the same pinion mount as the sv, as atari said.
The alloy diffs are fine at doing what they were designed for. Suzuki didn't plan on fitting 31's, 5.12's and lockers when they designed them

I broke mine on stock highway terrains
I have confirmed with tombutt that the later gv mounts clear the h20 sump easily so that makes it easier for people with the sv620 models
