I've just fitted the calmini 3" kit to my vitara but have some camber/wheel alignment issues. i've got some toe in camber issues i was just wondering if theres any chance i could do some home aligning just so i can get it to town to do a proper one.

there's not much you can do about the camber issue, apart from loosening the control arm bush bolts with the car on the ground & retighten... this might let it settle a bit more.

the toe alignment can be done at home with a couple of broom sticks or 2 things long & straight, lay them against each tyre on the ground & measure the distance infront & behind the tyre.... adjusting the toe so the measurements are the same.

If you have camber bolts fitted you can check your camber with a spirit level against the rim. Just make sure it is vertical and not toching the tyre.
I had to drive my car 70k's the get the alignment checked so I used a spirit level against the rim. Got it to the shop and they didn't touch the camber as it was in specs only the toe in was changed.

how and where do u fit camber bolts? also where can i buy them?

I didn't think camber was adjustable on a 4be without a camber kit.

Are camber bolts and camber kits the same ?

pedders for camber bolts & the go in the 2 bolt holes that bolt the strut to the knuckle.

some people have used 2 camber bolts on each side to get it back into alignment. SiKiD_01 elongated the hole to get the camber he was after.

cabmer bolt/kits are pretty much the same, some have an adjustable strut top to dial in the camber but usually only found on street cars/rice mobiles

solid axles are a bit hard to adjust camber on but on IFS it's no biggie.

im used to beam axle 4bes, forgot the IFS bit.

well looks like im going to need to buy some camber bolts tomorrow hopefully i can get the vit back on the road soon!!

After I fitted the OME suspension lift to my SV420 the outside of my front tyres started to wear like crazy. I took it to a wheel aligner and he didn't even bother to hoist it up.
Said he could see the tyres were cambered out at the top and reckoned I needed different shocks. Well there's no others available with the long travel so I asked around and found most Vit guys slot out the top hole to get enough adjustment. They scribe the strut so that they can be returned to the same spot after maintenance.
I'm a bit concerned about them moving after hitting rocks etc so I'm getting a pair of camber bolts from Low Range to see if they give me enough adjustment.

My Vit hand book says TOE IN should be between 2 - 6 mm.
But does that mean front of front wheels point inward slightly?
IE front of tyre 2-6mm less than rear of front tyre measurement.
Mines currently 0mm IE dead straight.

yep, that's toe in, camber is the top of the tyres pointing in.

Done camber as good as I can. Just wasn't sure of terminology.
So I will guestimate the toe in adjustment as soon as hail storm subsides.

If you were to slot the top hole to get the adjustment wouldn't it shift under the load and suspension cycle Throwing the camber out again.
