ive done quite a bit of searching, looking for some information... my rear output seal on my transfer case needs replacing, but nowhere local sells the 28mm socket needed to remove the nut on the flange...
im going to get a mechanic to do it, only because i dont have the right size socket. is it as simple as: remove the nut, remove the flange and the seal is right there? ive read both yes and no to that... im just trying to work out rough cost of it...

Yep, depending on the condition of your case, the flange and nut may be quite hard to get off. You'll most probably need a breaker bar to crack the nut and a bearing puller to get the flange off if your doing it yourself.

Yeh mate it uss that simple...
the nut may be tight and the flange may be tight. But that is all.fairly simple job.

any decent mechanic will have the required socket.. flick em a 6 pack and see if they will loan it to you... or if you wanted to order it off the net...
