Valve regrind set I think it stands for. Head gasket, valve stem seals, cam seal, rocker cover gasket etc etc. Almost everything you need from the head gasket up

i'd be taking it back to the people that did the work, if they've just put a full VRS kit in maybe they forgot to torque the head properly or fitted the head gasket the wrong way & blocked a water jacket or something....

If you do it yourself, I'd say $3k. Depends what you need to buy, and how much you get the motor etc for.

Engine conversions rarely go to plan, so make sure you have more money that what you hope to pay.

I charged $4500 drive in drive out for the last one I did. Suzisport used to charge $6K and use a shitty Link ECU. 8O

I read it as he just slipped a head gasket in himself

anyone proclaiming to be a mechanic isnt that stupid, likely would be incapable of remembering where work was anyway

My bad.
If you still want to sell it either get it fixed or get a cheap replacement engine to drop in.

If you want to man up get a 1.6 (maybe look at getting someone to do it) then keep it.

If you put a 1.6 in it and try to sell it, you won't get your money back.

i dont wanna give you the impression that a conversion will be cheap but they dont have to cost that much. if your willing to wait you can pick up a damaged car from a damaged vehicles auction for next to nothing (i got 1 for 600 bucks) the adapter plate etc bout 300 max and a bit of other shit. I know these guys on here know thier stuff but a g16b into a sierra is easy.
