G'day

do you know where i can get some crush tubes from? I need few for chassis. 10-14mm OD. as usually is to much to ask for in bunnings, they have 16 ODmm steel pipes and 12mm OD aluminium ones. I've check some steel shops but they don't have such a small diameter pipes. copper and aluminium is probably to soft

whats wrong with 16mm steel pipe, use a bigger washer

How much did u need chris? Im using tube to suit M12 bolts. 1.7mmthk wall

i use rhs for mine
20x20x1.6 from memory. but that is in the end of the chassis for bar mounts

most will carry seamless tube, which cost alot more. not sure if you get it per metre or not.

Yeh as others have said, just use steel pipe. I found some a little larger than the bolt, cut them so they are a snug fit in the rail, then shoved the bolts thru and tightened.

They should sell it in what ever length you want. 12mm bolt is a neat fit in 16mm x 1.6 hydraulic tube.

are you talking about the tube that goes in the centre of the rubber mounts?

yeah pretty much. same concept, use to stop the chassie from being pulled in.

got a question, do you have to weld them in?

whats to stop them moving in the box section and enlargeing the holes then?

They shouldnt really move at all should they? Mine are still as tight/solid as when I put them in.
What steel did you use out of interest?

I should then clarify, SHOULD you weld them in, yes apparently its safer.
Do you HAVE TO weld them in, no.
