you don't hit a bump, want to turn or want to stop. If you're building a drag vit, well why not.

if your building a drag vit there is alot better engine options out there

Oh, by the way. a 48kw 4K motor in a 950kg zook is 50.5kw/tonne.

A 100kw V6 in a 1300kg Vitara is 76.9kw/tonne.

Get your facts straight before you start mouthing off...

My Zook doesn't weigh that much.. It was weighed years back when the Engine/Gearbox was engineered.
Fact.
The 4K has a webber carb, intake, exhaust, performance plugs/leads, shaved head and was rebuilt prior to the swap.
Fact.
I'm going to safely say it is probably around the 65kw mark.
Assumption, but meh.

And you forget to account gearbox/xfer/diff ratios, and tyre sizes.. Not to mention usable RPM ranges and the traction offered at any point in that range by the tyres fitted to your vehicle based on the terrain you are driving in.
So no, it isn't THAT easy to prove either way.

I was saying, from personal experience.. Having driven both quite frequently.. That the PICKUP is comparitable.
But thanks for submitting some numbers for consideration.

I'd love to say sorry, but the truth is the internet is a violent place.
I see people on this forum being flamed every day, usually for little reason.
I come in and throw a little personal experience comment in.. And wow, no less than THREE people are down my throat about it? Some welcome that is
If you can't handle hearing somones opinion without having to argue it til you're blue in the face.. Then just stay away from forums all together.

Wake up to yourselves, if you want to have a friendly community of Zook owners, how about you start by being friendly?

Yes i'm 12, thanks for asking.
A good 6-7 years of sand/dirt/bush/gravel driving in MY Zook, and 2-3 years V6 LWB Vitaras my friends own, which i drive quite often on and off road.
But i'm an inexperienced 12 year old, so nevermind.

You jumped head first onto that harassment thread many months back. All self-righteous and dudley do-right ontop of your high horse.
But look at you now, you're the one insulting.. Doublestandards are a bitch right?

I hate to play ball with cripples, because it isn't nice to laugh at them when i win!
But oh well, and i don't hope you get cancer.. I'd much rather see you driving a Jeep.

Stekky, you're on the money as usual.

Official kerb weight of a softtop Sierra, 930kg.
Fact.

Add a driver and fluids its a tonne easy.
Fact.

65kw from the 4K? I think your dreaming, but even so, its still a lower power to weight ratio than the V6 vitara.
Fact.

So, unless you've shed 200kg of weight from your Sierra (doubtful, it'll actually weigh more cos of bigger tyres etc. then you are talking bullshit.

You will find that this is a friendly community, but bullshit artists are not taken to kindly... Some people actually use these tech threads, so filling them with misleading information is not really a good way to go. Nor is telling someone to put a totally inappropriate motor in a car, especially if it is gonna be street driven.

Royce, just ban him already... He was funny to start with but now he's just fucking annoying ;)

regarding weight - my sierra with chassis extension, SPOA on hilux leaves, 31s on 15x7s, 1.6 vit carby engine and a soft top full of water weighed in an 1040kg with no one in it and a full tank of fuel.

take away the 31s and the extra metal i added plus any water pooled in the tray and roof and it'd easily come down to under 1000kg, probably around 990kg i'd imagine.
