Iv bought a falcon 110 amp alternator, started to fit it with no luck.
I have a vitara powersteering setup with wedge adapter kit. And it is hitting on the rag joint, this is when the alternator is as close to the block as possible.

Has anyone done this swap on a Sierra with a g16b and power steering? Did you have the same problem?

Yep..trying to keep it reliable. But I have to get it on there first. I'm pretty close to cutting a section out of the alternator. I want to drive it this weekend. Iv been thinking one of those rag joint eliminators from low range might work.

It isn't bolted in, it's just resting there. It can move nearly an inch closer to the engine.

Nope no air con.. Ill have to have a look at it tomorrow, the only issue would be the mounting to make the pulleys line up. I have never looked at the a/c mounts....

I cut a small piece out of the round protrusion so the alt could sit hard against the water pump. The circled bit in the pic isn't where I cut mine but it is the same on the block side.
