how you going fellas, just wondering how hard is it to put a sierra t/cas to a vit box.. what needs to be done

find antts members thread, he ran a vit box,vit transfer and sierra transfer

you need to cut the front output off the vit transfer and make up a mount to link the sierra transfer to teh vit transfer and a driveshaft

ends up pretty long as well

i make these vitara transfers at half the length they were. joined to a sierra transfer with 2 uni shaft.

There's a mob in the states doing a similar thing but the 2 tcases are bolted together solid, no jack shaft. Could you do the same thing with your setup Joe?

first time i've seen it done that way joeblow, not a bad idea at all

i did similar with mine, chopped the front output off, welded it shut to still hold oil. used 2 sierra flanges bolted together to join them, and they were then mounted solid together.

saw the pics. did the same thing bout 14 years ago, problem was too many vibes. i now make em half the size and had new rear output splined flanges made.you only end up moving the stock transfer back about 50- 70mm, unfortunately a little more with a 4 speed auto. this way i can keep em pretty cheap and simple....but oh so tuff too. remember, will do nothing for highway gearing, and better suited to diff gears than rockhoppers.
