does anyone make vinyl floor covering(carpet) for sierras like the factory stuff that comes one soft top? i've seen carpet for them on ebay but not the vinyl

most of the mobs that do molded carpets also do vinyl, jsut whether or not they do it for sierras is another matter

i like the clips and the factory fit so does anyone have the original vinyl (in pretty good nick) that they aren't using?

go talk to a shop like clark rubber or some where like that, get some of the vinyl (not the thin stuff you use for seats, door tims) a heat gun,stanley knife and away you go. once you heat it up and let it cool it will hold the shape pretty well or you can glue it down in a few spots if you don't want it to move. shouldn't be more that $100 to do the whole car.

have to say i agree with steve, it will just hide dirt and water witch will rust.

ok then i'll have to give it a try my floor looks shit without the floor covering its all dented and has this crappy sound deadening stuff thats all chipped and cracked and i'm not planning on getting my floor panel beated

if you glue the whole thing down it wouldn't get to much stuff under it but the floor needs to be pretty sound, no dints as vinyl shows up and mark and will make it look worse and water eats away all glue that works with vinyl.

why not go carpet, just go to a carpet shop an grab some half desent carpet out of there hopper and stuck it down, will hide the dints, warm, sound proof it abit and cost you nothing. you just need a knife and some glue

i think i want to have it removable because when i bought the car i lifted up the vinyl and there was like 10mm of mud covering the whole floor so i want to be able to hose it out so i don't get any rusty surprises in the future

with the carpet i'd just put a little bit to hold it up the fire wall and any where else it folds over itself. the rest will sit with the weight of it and just rip it out when wet and dry or chuck it out.

could i use that chequer plate vinyl stuff or would that be too thick to shape around the wheel arches and trans tunnel?

no just heat it up from the back and make sure the front plastic doesn't peel from getting to hot. if its thick wear gloves as you'l have to hold it in place to "set" and it will need to be heated up abit more.
