Picked up my 04 carry today and after sitting for 4 years it would seem the fuel filter is blocked to the shithouse, symptoms are engine cuts out normally after cornering hard or going over bumps the proceeds to run shit until i turn it of for a bit. If i put my foot flat it's like turning on and off a light switch power on then off then on then off, you get the idea. After an extensive search i couldnt find the filter so i thought it might have an intank one, tried to remove the pump assembly but the tank needs to be dropped as its huge.
the car starts and idles fine it is just under load.
should i clean out the tank or take it to get the filter/pump checked and cleaned or can i do it myself.
Hi hun this is my new work car i spent $$$ to get, good isnt it. But i cant take you for a drive cause its rooted and i have to fix it.
went down well let me tell you

In tank from memory, first ting I would look at would be fuel pressure & condition..
The 13bb's like to shit TPS's, give's an awesome flat spot, but not normally form idle to WOT..
Would be worth changing spark plug's to.

can i just clean the in tank filter/mesh or do i have to replace it.
i think there might be a heap of shit in the tank after sitting for so long,
cornering and going over bumps are really the only things that set it off.
fuel was less than 1/4 and i just filled it up with 98

heading up to lancelin on monday morning to test her out, but it will be a strictly no rocks affair for this rig as panels and parts are impossible.
