Does any one know who many times its safe to splice the accessory wire? mines been done for cd player, uhf, under dash lights, cigarette lighter, and 2 switches for spotties. Thats 6 all up . if I replace the original wire with high gauge will this help keep my wiring harness from lighting on fire? thanks

Why are the switches for the spotties wired off the acc wire? The spots should be getting power directly from the battery to the relay. The acc wire probably only has a 15amp fuse. I'd say you're pretty close to that without the spot lights added in

im pretty sure just the switches are getting the power from the acc wire, not the actual spotties. at least, thats how i read it...

What do the switches need power for?

I'm guessing they have an LED in them?

is there more then 1 accessories wire? I have similare items except the spottie, just dont want to start blowing fuses..

Still don't need a separate acc power run to them.

Spotties are using switched power for the relay trigger I'm assuming?
I run mine the same way.

Acc to switch to trigger the relay. Low current side.

The acc switch system in the sierra ignition barrel is pretty piss poor. I would use it to trigger a relay and run all your accesories of that. Much better idea!

What is the acc wire switching on the relay? The switch should be cutting the highbeam trigger wire.

You'd be able to run a dedicated 8 guage accessory wire from the alternator, feed it into a fused distribution block and run what you like off it. I think it would be a bit safer than overloading one wire.

jr jook is correct the acc is just to turn the spotties on. the power to them is from the battery, and they are not wired into the high beams.

Thanks for the ideas, I'm going to turn everything on and see if it blows a fuse. if it doesn't I might just leave it at this point because I have nothing else to add on and I won't ever use everything at the same time.

I dont see 5 amps in everything youve listed there, plus whatever you plug into the lighter socket

I wouldnt worry about it
