Suzuki Sierra, 2" Lovells spring lift.

The hole on the spring perch is about 10mm back from the pin on the spring. The shackle is also all the way to the stop.

How the f#%^ do I get them to line up?

yeah driver rear at the moment. they are definitely rears. and it has "D/S" on it so i know its the right one. just isnt being cooperative...

allign diff into pin


then jack that side of the diff up and put the shackle back through..

I haven't no. Doing one corner at a time.

Just undid the shackle. Same situation. Just no it's no attached at the shackle end.

Move the diff. I put or tried to put in camber wedges, wrong size holes, when I went to set it back as it was, same problem your having.

Undo both spring hangers, move the diff to align the holes, then do the hangers, you may have to use force to get the hangers back on, I did, no biggy really.

When doing one side only, everything is held in position by the other side, undoing both sides makes it a piece of cake.

I haven't done it but mine has the diff moved back, make sure you check clearances for your shocks e.t.c once you've moved it.

Put jack stands under chassis and let the diff droop. Undo everything and then bolt in springs. THEN do up U bolts loosly and align diff. Then fully clamp down and hold diff down. You can't expect lifted springs to be exactly the same as standard springs can you.

This is a good learning curve for you. Helps understand the way springs work.

If you undo the u bolts on both sides it will be so easy you will beat your self for not doing it earlier

I've changed heaps of springs one at a time..(My car has quite an appetite for them)
Jack up the spring until the diff is supported by it and then kick the diff into place. Sounds rough but works and saves a lot of time....

In your case if you are changing both rear springs loosen the Ubolts on the other side and you should be able to align the locating pin fairly easily.

x2 jack the the springs up. i only just did mine in the rear and it worked for my first time on changing the springs.

I undid the p/s ubolts moved the diff. Cheers guys.

Now my shackle won't go in. Will the angle return when the springs get some weight on it and settle in?

Yes the shackle will return..Depending on how stiff the springs are.

my quick way of doing 2 springs

jack up, stands under chassis, let suspension drop

undo all ubolts, lift diff clear slightly and hold with more stands

undo and remove shackle, let spring drop, same for other side
remove pin other end, chuck old spring and slip new one in and do up loosley, same for other side

lift up spring and put shackle back in, do up loosly

drop diff onto springs, slide into locating holes and put plates and u bolts in

lower back to ground and do pins and shackles up

never need any effort to get anything to line up that way
