Just looking at prices and who has what out there, I have a 94 SWB Vitara and am under the impression I have most of the things stock already for conversion??

:helloo: BenT does a adaptor kit for 200 plus shipping i think check him out in the business forum. im pretty sure from there its a matter of how mechanically minded you are as in how much of the conversion you will do compared to paying a mechanic to do. also this is just what id do would be to rebuild the engine while its out.

He has the 1.6l carb, same as the 1.6l injected, does not need an adaptor.

Is it worth going from the 1.6 carby to efi? For the extra effort, the 2.0ltr sounds like a better option...

2.0L IS the better option. But its alot more work again. G16B will be easiest.

ok any info then on what the best thing to do is for this conversion? Do I still need a complete motor or from the head up?

Blocks are different between the carby and efi.. It will work, but i guess those changes were made for a reason. Someone else can probally add more.

tell me this if I can get my hands on a cheap estates with EFI is it just a bolt in job, are they the same as investing in a baleno motor??

Vitara motors are the easy option. Balenos need sump/oil pickup mods, and AFAIK dizzy and thermostat housing mods.

So the cheapest and best opt is to buy a cheap Estate and do the conversion?? sounds also alot easier than most topics make out?

VItara will be the easiest. I've done the conversion in a weekend with a mate, but I usually allow a week nowdays, as I prefer to make new chassis mounts and widen the tranny tunnel and run the motor low with the vit gearbox fitted.

just looked at pricing a j20 engine and found one for $800 is that good and what mods are needed for the 2.0lt
