I have just bought an immaculate condition 2001 Baleno ( coilpack 1.6) that's only done 90000km. $4200!! :D

OK, so it's going to be used as our second car in the immediate future but I am already eyeing off the engine to replace the aging donk in the Jimny.

So if or when i get around to swapping out the 1.6 for the Jimny I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas about putting the 1.3 back into the Baleno at least to keep it moving. That is, in the true essence of a swap

Do-able? Reverse a BenT adapter plate? Swift gearbox?

Just buy another Baleno from the auctions for a few hundred dollars.
Pull the G16B out fit your G13BB head and wack it in the Jim.

I've been looking for one of these "few hundred dollar baleno's" and buggered if I can find the right auctions

Any links?

Been looking at pickles, the only ones they have are on the other side of the country, I'll keep my eye out though!

EDIT: Other end, victoria is a tad far from here to just pop down and get one!

Same head, you don't have water outlet etc out the back

Then you have water outlet at front. No messing around with water pipes from the firewall to radiator.

That's nothing to do with the head though - it's the inlet manifold and a blanking plate on the back of the head.

Isn't the outlet on the manifold.
Would it be possible to swap the manifold and blank the head?

Steve beat me to it. :)
