I need to get an adaptor plate made up to fix a throttle body to the zook manifold.

I've taken the measurements from dead centre of the mounting holes of the TB and manifold:






The plate will have to be about 10mm thick, and look something like this:



The red holes indicate the throttle body mounting position, and will need to be threaded to secure the TB to the plate.

The yellow holes indicate the manifold position, and holes will need to be countersunk so not to interfere with the TB.


Anyone here up for the job? Shoot me a price and i'll tee it up

With your design. I would be matching the intake to the TB not the manifold. Ie just a hole, not an oval. Then port to match. Will also simplify the design of the adapter plate.

yeah then its just someone with a drill press and a 50mm holesaw to make it =)

Yeah will do, I just put an oval shape to show there's a hole there Gimmie a basic hole and then i'll port it out to suit both pieces - the drilling I can't do myself

Not done with the manifold hole yet - there's still enough beef on the intake manifold to widen for a more circular routing if need be, but i'll wait until I got all the bits in front of me before I do anything more.

I need a 70mm x 100mm x 12mm piece - stopped through Metal Land and another metal yard on the way home and but 3 metre lengths is their minimum order... waaay more than I need

timmay made mine, i got the chunk of 6061 from ulrich alu mine was a bit bigger tho, and my holes were really close to each other so i had to use one hole for both TB and manifold

for that chunk of alu it cost me $75 110x115x25 from memory plus tim's rates....

What about an electrical contractor? I know we used to have a heap of scrap ally laying around, just depends how thick you need I guess.

Or maybe a scrapyard, they might sell you a small bit.

Che, that little hole in the manifold to the right in your picture..By yourself a 1/4" round stick of aluminum, cut it to length, then heat the 1/4" rod and swedge (read pound) it in with a wooden mallet.

This does two things, #1 prevents a common source for vacuum leaks. #2 fills the hole so you can port the intake/plenum area to your hearts content.
Also, take a dremel tool, or whatever you have and round out the corners below the plenum.

That little hole goes to the air inductor nozzles inside the intake ports in the head. They are supposed to promote swirl in the combustion chamber, but are no longer needed, so plugging the port just gives you a little bit more room to port, and seals up a common vacuum leak.

Don't port it out bigger, just smooth the corners and make the transition into the two runners nice rounded and smooth.

There is more to do internally, but that should help quite bit with flow and velocity into the runners. You really should port the inside of the runners if you want the most efficiency you can get out of the manifold (power and mileage).
