Yeah take some group photo's hugo.
Picked up my HD Clutch kit today.
Ran into a couple of hiccups today. Tried to order 2 sets of headlights from hobzees4wd shop cos they look awesome and the old ones are dim as at night. but out of stock and 3 weeks away.
The next bit of news was a bit more troubling. I called suzisport and just asked to see if the angle drive kit would work with my MK3 motor. Turns out i'll to find another distributor that will fit. If anyone knows tell me. I'd really appreciate it.
And i'll also be up for an aftermarket ecu? Could someone explain the benefits/costs of getting one over the standard one? I was recommended to get a Link G3 for $1290.

What dizzy do you need? Does the kit work with the stock dizzy or do you have to use a Sierra dizzy or something? From memory the GTi uses a very unique trigger wheel so I can't see any other dizzy working. I'm guessing that the drive angle thingy that Suzisport sells doesn't suit the MK3 for some reason.
I'd try to exhaust all your other options before going an aftermarket ECU.

ok chinny...... a mk2/3 gti dizzy has a crank angle sensor, and the sierra doesnt thats why the angle drive kit will not work with standard sierra however if u were to get an angle drive kit and aftermarket ecu you would be able to use sierra dizzy but thats a waste of time and money... however there is a distributer cap and rotor button from a mazda 323 GTX 1.6L DOHC TURBO ( SAME AS TX3 LASER) thats fits to the mrk 2/3 dizzy and converts the leads to a 90degree angle instead of straight into the firewall, the cap fits within mm but if u were to give a slight bump to fire wall it would fit with room to spare.... this option would be much cheaper prob about $50 from your auto parts shop, also how have you gone with the thermostat housing? there is a mitsubishi one that fits it apparently

He might be able to take the guts out of the GTi dizzy and put that into the Sierra dizzy, then bolt that to the head with the angle drive kit. It sounds a bit complex but it would be the easiest way to do it.

Thanks so much! The thermo housing is off a magna P/n W022A that will fit with some minor modding.

I'll try it out when it arrives but i want to try the mazda dizzy cap and rotor button. If that works it ends up heaps cheaper than the angle drive kit

No worries. If yours are the same as mine:
For the driver side the rail is in line with the seat holes. In my 89 WT seat rails there are 2 slots at the back which i drilled out to 10mm and put bolts through. Then marked the front 2 holes and drilled them out as well. Just line everything up by eye and should be sweet.
Passenger side is a bit trickier. I need to have plates to screw onto the seat. I cut a piece of 3mm gal sheet into 440 x 50mm folded 10mm in to 90 degrees. For the front 2 holes i drilled the plates and put a bolt through the front of the seat rails, plate and seat mounts. For the rear you'll need to drill and bolt 2 sets of holes on each for the seat and plate and plate and rail.
I have a spare set of gal plates i made cos i thought i may need 2 sets. Make an offer and its yours.

cheers for the reply bud.
My passenger seat went in virtually bolt on but drivers only went in front bolts but rear dont come close to fitting to the standard bolt up mounts, looks like i need to make either spacers to go into the floor where they are or make brackets to extend the brackets about 60mm.

back to working and i've got EFI fuel hoses pumps, surge tank and radiator fan happening. Ended up buying a microtech ECU as the loom i've got doesn't even fit the ECU. I need accelerator cable and to make up top radiator hose.

Dont worry about a tube bender for exhaust stuff. Buy mandrel bends and cut/weld to suit.
Exhaust tube I get from my local exhaust place, and mandrel bends from Queensland Diesel Spares!!!
Get yourself and eBay cat and a straight thru muffler off a big road bike and you're sweet
