Hi guys,

I jacked up the rear of the car yesterday. Just so the suspension would droop and I noticed that my rear brake lines are holding the rear up, lol

Take your existing brake line to a brake place and tell them you want one made up to a certain length etc.

Wow...

I payed like $40 a hose last time I got some made (that was for a simple hose.. So just two ends.. If they have something halfway along then they were up to $60 depending on what the fitting cost)

Where? I need longer ones for my front, and probably rear due to the same problem, I'm surprised they haven't let go wheeling yet. This is also the reason I still have the swaybar on, so It doesn't droop and wreck the brake lines!

Hmmm, well I guess it depends on what the ends are. These were "simple", but they were for the front what had quite large metal ends that also secured the lines with clips.

That was also in Townville where you don't exactly have a lot of choice for suppliers...

I got these from repco for $50 each, they're from a 93 Hyundai excel and are a direct bolt on for the front of the Sierra

are you sure it's the break line & not the hand break cables as there is only 1 break line on the back & that should have been replace with the extended calmini one supplied in the kit?

the other thing is how often are you in a situation when both rear wheels are at maximum droop... apart from getting air?

You can get some extra "length" in the rear brake lines by bending the centre bracket down

It doesn't need to be both, just the side with the brake line.

Oh and the other times are when you're on the nose, which would be bad.

Or when you fall into a hole and are sitting on the chassis.

Lol, maybe it's the handbrake line. I'm a dickhead, haha

I can see two lines that come from the floor in the middle of the car following the transmission tunnel down to a cross brace on the chassis, they both turn out towards the wheels and go through a braket that fixes them firmly to the chassis so the hose itself cannot slide back or forward, they then continue through a braket that is flexible and into the drums.

If I just unbolt the fixed braket will if fix my issue or will I have no handbrake?

Lol, I hate waking up on a Sunday with 3hrs sleep or less being hungover and asking silly questions. Haha

If hand brake lever was still on,
the cables will prevent full droop.
Test again with hand brake off. (chock wheels for safety)
