hi guys,

will be installing the suspension in the car some time this week. I'm doing the 1/2 ruf and as a result i will have to move the diff forward. I think i have an idea about how to go about doing it but was just wondering if anyone had some photos of the actual drilling of the perch and other parts.

You don't need a drill press though, I have done it before with a hand drill. It's probably best if you step up gradually if doing it with a hand drill. If you try and do it all in one hit it will most likely get your drill bit too hot and it will lose it's edge. It could also catch, which could stall the drill, or if your drill has enough torque rip your hand around and break your wrist! Just go steady and you'll be OK.

cheers damo. will i be able to do it without removing the diff like you have done?

ok, i'v moved the diff forward and all the suspension is in. Just wondering if i should get a drive shaft spacer as the spline in the shaft has come out heaps?

def get ya self a spacer. about the same size as how far you moved the diff forward

Go to a metal fab place and get a qoute.. very easy thing to make when you have the right tools.. reckon it would be HEAPS cheaper to go that way!
