remember which way round they go, and where all the springs go, can be easy to forget..take photos. it helps.
they are probably self adjusting, so back them off all they way, b4 installing new ones.

And check under wheel cylinder rubbers, cause I bet they leaking too.
Which will stuff ya new shoes fast

And have hand brake off before fitting,
or you wont get drums on.

FRirst pump of brakes will go low, but then they will adjust themselves

Take photos of both sides before you start. Also it is normal for the leading and trailing shoes on each side to be different sizes. I am not sure about Japanese builds but most of the Australian cars that I have worked on were different. Check that out and make sure they go in the correct way.

never looked inside a jimny drum,
on a sierra it was crank a little ratchet thing back in,
that ran between the shoes,
so shoes dropped away from drums.

just under the top spring is where my Vits self adjuster was.

It will be obvious how to adjust it back.

The shoes are held in with funny clips,
push and turn to release.

I think JML is going to do a full floating rear for Jimny's any way

Make sure you loosen off the handbrake adjustment at the lever before you start. Jimny has self adjusting drums but they clog with mud. You'll need to clean and make sure the ratchet mechanism works freely.

I got the d-side done no issues there...

Onto the passenger side....i got the old shoes out, got the new one's in, then i put the spring on with the adjuster thing....yeh that's fine...went to put the pin in for the hand brake cable, then the spring with the adjuster come out now i can't get it back in i have no farking idea if i have done it in the right order, here's how i did it:

-Take old pads out
- sit new pads in place then put the spring with the adjust thing on
-put lower spring on
-put pin in
-now i don't know what to do



Now im stuck is that the right order to do it?

New pads, different diff center and new wheel bearings...but it's still making noises what else could be causing the noises? Drums out of round? Really starting to shit me now.....

Just wild thoughts... Any visible signs of metal to metal contact between shoes and drum, or is the backing plate bent outward a bit and contacting the edge of the drum?

That was my first thought...but i could not see any paint missing on the backing plate or the out side of the drum...so it must be the pads touching the inside of the drums even with the hand brake off

Oh, and i think you would have to have a sierra t-case with a transmission brake( i think that's what there called?) for it to work?
