So the TD shocks are to blame for the terrible ride. Okay, thanks guys, by the sound of it we are all have a pretty stiff ride, so I'll try and find a set of heaps long but softly valved shocks....

Does the common Sierra shock combo fit into the jimny? HiLux/commo?

Here are the slider pics

cheers mate, look sorta like mic mounting. that rear mount, is that just plate on the inside rail as well?

always cant figure out how that front bit is mounted with the ring piece... is there a round plate welded in there with a bolt hole in the middle or something?

The procomp ES1000 are soft shocks and you can get them to suit 0-5" lift but they DON'T have bump stops built into them. The shocks i got are the 5" ES3000's, they are a fair bit softer than the TD shocks but not as soft as the ES1000. The reason i went for the 3000 series is they have bump stops built into the shocks as do the ES9000's.

You could go for some 4" procomp es1000 then put some bump stop spacer's in to stop the shocks from topping out, but you will need coil retainer's and maybe drop out cones. :P

BTW i was going to post that in your thread but it it's sort of got de-railed :?

Dirt cheap to :D

this is tech!

I undid my shocks and my sway bar and flexed it up again, and the shocks were still longer then i needed. So im guessing my bushes are restricting travel more then anything. Is there any special flex bushes you can buy?

Thanks :D

FAIL!

The pan hard runs in front of the axle on the pic I posted. I would not put the link there, possibly offset under/outside of the chassis....

million dollar question..... how hard are you going to push this thing?

could be a better/cheaper option doing a 3 link front using a WT housing with Cromo's than trying to upgrade the jimny diff?

I thought about it but I'm pretty sure a Jimmy diff is the same width as a Coily, so chromo's would have to be custom anyway, and a Jimmy runs the tie rod behind the diff with a high pin center. I haven't jumped on a 3link calculator yet, but I'm hoping I can build 2 new lower links and attach them to stock positions, then build one bracket on the chassis and mount on the diff and be done with it.

As for how hard, Rope Rd, secret creek, steps, QLD gate, this new secret track that would have stopped my old lwb ;)

A 3 link f&r would be simple! Make up some custom arms and keep your lower diff mounts stock if needed to be reversed one day.

Yeah but you want something off the shelf, fast to replace. Not "in progress" for months on end
