Pretty stock LJ50 just has Stockman housings and "hand me down" gas shocks off a Daihatsu F50. Standard shackles with worn rubber bushes. Bit of an anticlimax after the Sierras I know.

I have to drive it up a ramp at an angle to prevent the rear wheel running up the ramp. In the ramp pic (taken on the ramp at Cityview 4x4 park) I stopped because the rear was on the bottom. If I take it on the angle the rear wheel goes about 300mm past the bottom. LJ50's have narrow spring spacings and housings are 100mm wider than stock also LJ50 rear shocks are inboard of chassis rails. Also the wheelbase is only 76".

Zook-fan, I hope you don't think I took offence at your reply, I took it as a compliment, thanks. Don't know the ramp angle I think it belonged to "Complete 4x4 Centre" Not as impressive as yours or Zookernator's but in QLD the fun police are quick to pounce on anything sprung over or with drop shackles or 35"s for that matter (must be fun though)

1997 coily
Custom tube control arms (no more bending)
Jimny Upper Coil mounts and custom coil seats (front)
Stupid Stiff as hell Poly bushes
Pro Comp Shocks that are to SHORT
NO body lift
i think it ended up about 4.5 inch lift (Honda Crv 50mm lifted rear springs alround lol)
Extended Braided Brake lines
Exntended Panhards
30*9.5 tyres
should travel better when i get some nice rubber bushes for the front and some longer shocks, maybe even softer springs for the front iiii dunno.

Poly bushes are for sure the enemy of travel in a 3 link. You can get ones with holes in them for Nissans and Rovers. Dunno about Zooks though.

As a comparison.
This is my 96 SJ80.
Stock arms, stock worn rubber bushes. Sway Bar removed, about a 40mm lift. Front lower strut mounts chopped off and rotated 90 degrees and remounted slightly higher on top of axle housing strengthening.
With the shocks unbolted (i.e. it needs longer shocks) i can get another brick out of it without to many worries and i am sure cheating with tyre pressures would get a fraction more.
