Just wondering if anyone knows if there's any reason I couldn't cut the coil mounts of the diffs out of a 97 Sierra and weld on spring perches to suit my old nt.

Sure you could.... but that would open up a whole new can of worms -
Coil sierras are wider track than leaf, so rear axles and inner front axles are unique.
The front diff is unique
The tie rod is behind the axle and is likely to foul the leaf springs.
I have been led to believe that the knuckles can't be swapped between the coil and leaf axles, but I don't know this for sure.
This is important because if you want to swap to a conventional sierra front diff (so, for instance, you can have some choice of diff ratio) then the tie rod will foul the diff.
There are no upgraded parts for coil diffs.
All up, a set of coil sierra axles would be the worst possible choice for swapping into a NT sierra.
If you were really looking for a whacky swap, Jimny diffs would be superior - at least there are upgraded parts (and better diff gears) available for Jimny diffs.
Steve.

Thanks for that. Exactly what I needed to know. These are most likely the reasons why they are so cheap.

Correct Steve, swivel hubs are not interchangeable. Haven't looked but I'm led to believe coily and jimny are same (hubs at least).

Awesome!.... Or something! Steve (I did know this. I don't if it's good, bad or indifferent though. It does mean the rear diff centre and the hubs are the same as something else Suzuki made though )
