I'm probably worrying about nothing but thought I'd just double check.

I have an engine here suitable for rebuild, I've pulled the head off to get it reco'd, I got the intake manifold from out of the shed to give it a clean and it seems that it's from a Baleno. It appears to be almost identical to my vit's manifold except for some very minor differences.

Would this cause any unexpected issues when I swap it into the Vitara, eg with the gearbox, engine mounts wiring or any other plumbing?

And I've just noticed that the ditributor cap and rotor button are different, It wouldn't cause any problems if I just swap them over with my original dizzy?

Thanks,

I think you will find the wiring and ecu will be different, better to use your vit head if you can.

Use everything from your Vit head on the Baleno including the cam.

I did a bit more digging around and I actually think it's a '96-98 Vit engine which I presume is exactly the same as Baleno. I could be wrong but didn't they use a Coil Over Plug arrangement?

The only difference in wiring that I can think of would be for the Dizzy, All the sensors on the block are the same and on the head there are very minor differences like breather hoses.

I dont believe any Baleno ran the throttle body over the rocker, which all Vitaras did

remember there are 3 different types of Vitara G16B

All baleno's intake comes out next to cam cover, like jimny

Only later GV's? 2 doors got coilpacks, With intake like baleno's

98'on balenos ran twin coil packs. with a crank sensor. No dizzy after then, i think in anything G16b
Even the later GV's had cranksensors,
