:helloo: Don't know how the rubber was held in place, cause there is no lip or face for it in the hub, hence the first tin......

I bet ya never expected the length of this thread when you started, well done on the effort.

Did anyone mention the inside tins are at 90deg to outside tins so splits are against flat and a bit of sealant in split?

I'll be doing my first sierra swivel hub rebuild tomorrow. I bought a kit off eBay. $125 posted with all gaskets seals rubbers and koyo Japanese wheel bearings and king pin bearings.
How much is the lowrange kit cost ?

I think the low range kits are Koyo brand. The like using OEM quality.

Egay is king of cheap parts.
Just about everything on my Jimny has been replaced/rebuilt and about 80% is egay items!

The lowrange kit was ok, but I use the ebay spec ones now.. The oil seal, retainer, pad and cover felt pretty cheap on the lowrange kit.

Hey guys thought I might ask here rather than starting a new thread!

I'm going to be having a crack at my swivel hub kit this weekend does anyone have any trick for bearing removal, or a tool that makes it easier old man suggested a slide hammer

Cheers partick

For the races? The bearings themselves will just fall out. I normally just use a big screwdriver or a punch to knock out the races, just work your way around them.

Grind down one of the old races and use that to install the new ones.

Okay so I'm currently putting my passenger side back together been using this as a bible basically!
Now my problem is when I go to put my hub on the spline isn't sticking through far enough for the circlip to go back on?? Anyone able to shed some light on this?
Only thing can see that I did different is put my rubber tins and felt on before the hub!
Cheers Patrick

Screw a M8 bolt into the end of the axle and pull it outwards to fit the circlip. The CV/axle "floats", and the circlip locates the CV so the centre of it is aligned with the kingpin axis.
