It's the spindle width that makes the vitara hubs preferable IMHO, in order to prevent having to cut the axlehousing, and make the conversion a bolt on.

Jimny rear track will increase 10mm per side.If Jimny owners are interested please let me know by tomorrow night as I will be placing an order for axle steel next week.

I will take orders from Vit owners but will need some dimensions.

Absolutely interested in a kit, but there has been no mention in this thread of cost. For me to commit, you need to give us an approximate price range. I recall your Sierra FFA kits were somewhere around $700, was that right? Will that be the same for these?

We make full floater KITs for Suzuki Jimny.

Engineers over here in Aus don't like brake components being welded together.
Because of the forces involved, you are relying on a weld to stop your car.

Yes and no engineer will pass it.

Stock rear calipers don't use a hydro hand brake, they use a mechanical actuator, usually inside the piston.

Of course no.
Caliper has little lever. When you pull it piston is pushing out mechanically.

Thought that may be the case. The popularity of drifting has made them cheap and easy to get.
However I have noticed a few newer cars have a single button to press for a handbrake? Not sure on the mechinisim tho.
I'm looking into options as I want rear disco on my transfer and hate cables

Pushbutton handbrakes still use a mechanical mechanism to hold brake force - there's a geared motor or similar that cranks the cable on to apply the brake. The previous generation 7 series BMW was the first car in Australia with one, and it required a rewrite of the ADR's to allow it to be sold.

In any case, hydraulic pressure isn't permitted to be used as the vehicles handbrake. It must be a mechanical system.

There is also some variation engineer to engineer in Vic over modifications to a hand brake at all. We've had the spidertrax disc transfer brake knocked back by one engineer but fine for another.

Been fitting my conversion kit this week. FFA, Axle upgrade and Disc Brake conversion all in one.

I have come across a potential issue. The axle sits low in the spindle hole. This is not just gravity. Lifting it up moves barely 1 millimeter. Its out by at least a couple.

I have rotated the spindles, the adapter plates, swapped sides, and the space remains the same. It suggests to me that the axle housing has been bent an both ends, by way of vehicle weight pushing down and wheels pushing up.

What can be done to rectify this?

All the bars will be done by Uneek now, which will make them more readily available.
Joe was showing me the new tweaks he's done to the suzuki bars, they look better again
and will be even easier to fit.

I didn't do one as I was doing it because I was trialing allot of different parts as a test run for it all working.

But, with a few hours thinking in the shed it can only go together one way and is simple enough.

Yeah, in my build thread I explained how to fix the handbrake cable situation.

And after talking with JB for a while, im pretty sure a jimny front hub/spindle will bolt into the same holes and will accommodate for ABS. But this is purely theoretical and we are not 100% sure till someone does it.
